During maintenance and repairs we also change the strings.
New strings are needed for precise fine tuning and locating any
buzzing of the strings. Maintenance prices do not include a new
set of strings. You can bring your own set, or purchase a set from us.
Final adjustments include cleaning of the fingerboard, string height adjustment, truss rod adjustment and fine tuning. We also check the
string grooves of the nut. All maintenance prices include adjusting the instrument to its absolute best.

INSTRUMENT MAINTENANCE, RESTORATION AND REPAIRS
All instruments require regular maintenance. Wearable parts such as frets should be sanded or changed and readjusted from time to time. We restore the tone of your your instrument to its former self - or even better if needed!
If your instruments has received one blow too many, there is no need for concern. We can restore even a badly damaged instrument, although the amount of work hours may be significant. Remember to take good care your instrument!
Humidity and dryness
Wooden instruments are sensitive to humidity - or a lack of it to be more exact. Normally the room temperature (20-25 C) will suit your instrument. However, don't leave your instrument next to a radiator or in direct sunlight.
A suitable humidity percentage for an acoustic instrument depends on where the instrument was made. A good compromise is to try and stay at the middle - between 40% and 60% humidity. If changing the humidity of your home or training place is not an option, you can keep a humidifier in the guitar case. Ask us for more information on this.
Temperature changes
The finish on your guitar is also sensitive to quick changes in temperature. The surface might crack if the temperature rises or lowers too fast. Many touring musicians have had to find this out the hard way. If an instrument has gotten very cold in the back of a car (for example in winter), you should keep the instrument in its case as long as possible and let it warm up slowly - trust us, this pays off!
Let experts help!
If your instrument has a crack caused by dryness, you should not start gluing it yourself! Most of the time this just gives us more work to do. Note: If you notice a break in your guitar, immediately loosen the strings on the guitar - you may save quite a bit in repair charges!
